Caregiver applicants generally need to meet program, documentation, and verification requirements before they can provide paid support through Michigan care programs.
General caregiver requirements may include:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Have a valid Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number
- Complete Michigan CHAMPS provider enrollment
- Pass required background screening and program verification checks
- Be selected and approved by the Home Help participant
